Please look at your grades on skyward, get your homework turned in, study for tests and talk to your teachers. We BELIEVE in each of you! Attention Dual Credit Students!

You will need to park across the street Friday, September 1 due to the Shirley Atkins Volleyball Tournament. Team buses will be parking in the parking lot directly behind the main building. Remember that large vehicles need to park on the perimeter of the parking lot so that cars can park in smaller inner spaces. Parking in the back will resume Tuesday, Sept 4, 2018.

What a great 1st few days of school! We are off to a great start and things are great! Including living through the bells, figuring out parking and class relocations. Remember folks that our NEW SCIENCE WING will be ready soon and all this discomfort will be a memory! It will be well worth it! You guys get to be THE 1ST to attend classes in the new wing. Yay!

That being said, class meetings will take place this week. All of the meetings will take place during Enrichment in the Lecture Hall. Those meeting times are:

  • Expectations, policies and procedures

  • Dress Code
  • Schedule Changes
  • Student ID’s
  • Anything else that I missed

Please attend these meetings and pay careful attention.  Remember most, if not all, of this information, is covered in the Student Handbook.

We are so excited to welcome another year at THE White Oak High School. It’s going to be a great year! Here are a few reminders for tomorrow:

  • Students that drive MUST park across the street from WOHS. There will be NO parking in the back including in the parking lot behind the Middle School Gym, the band uses this area during morning practice.
  • Dress Code applies on day one! Please re-read the Student Handbook if you are not clear on what is appropriate to wear.
  • Chrome books will be issued next week. Please be listening for announcements.

Schedule Change Requests

The following information is outlined in the WOHS 2018-2019 Student Handbook

Schedule Changes (Located on page 76).

Students are expected to make informed and wise decisions during the course selection process. It is important that students and parents give careful consideration to selecting courses. The choices students make during course selection determine the Master Schedule of course offerings available. The Master Schedule, though never perfect, is designed to maximize student opportunities and minimize scheduling conflicts. Student schedules will not be changed to select different teachers. Once a class schedule is formulated, the student is expected to follow that schedule. There will be a deadline for changes in late spring shortly before the last day of instruction. Students had until the last day of school to submit those schedule changes. Few, if any changes will be made at Registration.

In order for a schedule change to take place, the request MUST meet 1 of the following requirements as outlined in the Student Handbook. Those requirements are as follows:

  • A student is in a class for which he/she has already received credit
  • A student needs to be moved to balance classes
  • A student’s schedule has the same course listed twice or is missing a class

Requests to level up (by teacher recommendation ONLY) or level down will ONLY be made at the end of the 2nd week of the school year and after the first semester.

If the student’s schedule change request meets 1 of the following requirements the may complete the following form:
